U2 WORLD TOUR ANNOUNCED

U2 will begin the first leg of their Vertigo//2005 world tour in San Diego on March, 28th 2005. The tour follows the release of their 11th album How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb which has sold more than 8.5 million copies worldwide since its release November 23rd, 2004. The album entered the U.S. charts at No. 1.

Vertigo//2005 will visit 13 cities in North America before arriving in Brussels on June 10th for the first of 24 scheduled European performances.

Paul McGuinness of Principle Management said "Now that all the logistics are worked out, the band are really looking forward to getting on the road. I've heard the new songs in rehearsal and they sound really great and the new production is going to blow everyone away."

Arthur Fogel, of tour promoters The Next Adventure (a division of Clear Channel Entertainment) said: "We are thrilled to be involved in what will surely be an amazing touring year for U2. We know the huge success of the Elevation Tour in 2001 and their brilliant new record has created tremendous anticipation around the world."

The support band for the North American shows will be Kings of Leon.

Tickets for performances in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Philadelphia and San Diego will go on sale Saturday, January 29th. Tickets for performances in Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Jose go on sale on Sunday, January 30th and tickets for New York and East Rutherford go on sale Monday, January 31st. All additional on sale dates will be announced in the next few weeks.

Once again, U2 will offer General Admission floor tickets giving fans the best view in the house for the lowest ticket price. Reserved seat tickets in the stands will also be available. In North America, general admission floor tickets will be $49.50 (plus applicable service fees). Additional ticket prices will vary per market. There will be an 8 ticket limit per person with a maximum purchase of 2 general admission floor tickets. Fans can check out www.U2.com or check local listings for complete ticket information.

Subscribers to U2's official website u2.com will have an opportunity to reserve tickets in advance of the on sale date and will receive an e-mail direct with booking information.
