AEG Facilities Tops Stadium Business Awards

Los Angeles, Ca (June 21, 2011) STAPLES Center, the downtown Los Angeles sports and entertainment arena was name Venue of the Year at the 2011 Stadium Business Awards just announced in Barcalona, Spain this past week. The Stadium Business Awards are the only awards to recognize a wide spectrum of achievements across the global stadium industry, from individual staff to venue of the year, from architecture to sustainability. Other winners representing AEG's global network of preeminent venues include Ebru Koksal, General Manager of Galatasaray FC in Turkey named Executive of the Year and David Campbell receiving an awarded Outstanding Achievement for his work with The O2 in London.

The awards ceremony took place during the Stadium Business Summit at FC Barcelona's Camp Nou stadium in Spain, in front of an audience of more than 220 senior sports industry professionals from around the globe, including representatives from Arsenal FC, Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup organising committee, Manchester City FC, Juventus FC, the Premier League, Spain's La Liga, the Olympic family and more than 50 stadiums, arenas and major sports events.
